  • After a Read Aloud using an Emergent Reader with the sentence structure, "I like to.." I model my answer and then ask for volunteers.
  • "...What do you like to do? I like to run!"
  • Thank you for raising your hand Aryana. What do you like to do?
  • I acknowledge Aryana modeling the appropriate behavior for speaking in lesson time and asking her the key question.
  • I like draw!
  • Great answer! Can you say it one more time- "I like to draw!"
  • I thank Aryana for contributing her idea while subtly correcting her answer and having her repeat the sentence structure correctly.

  • During Literacy Time we practice reading our sight words and then look for them in our poem of the week.
