  • Peace, break thee off; look, where it comes again! (1.1)
  • In the same figure, like the king that's dead. (1.1)
  • Rising Action 1
  • For Lord Hamlet... he is young... Ophelia, do not believe his vows; for they are brokers. (1.3)
  • I shall obey, my lord. (1.3)
  • Rising Action 2
  • ... I, with wings as swift as meditation on the thoughts of love, may sweep to my revenge. (1.5)
  • Revenge his foul and most unnatural murder
  • Horatio, Marcellus, and Bernardo are standing outside of the castle when they see a ghost that looks like the deceased King Hamlet. 
  • Hamlet has professed his love to Ophelia, but Polonius warns Ophelia that Hamlet will only use her. However it is later found that Hamlet truly loves Ophelia. 
  • Hamlet finds out that the apparition is the spirit of his father. After following the ghost, he tells young Hamlet that he was murdered by his own brother because he wanted to be king. Hamlet wants revenge on his uncle!
