  • Elizabeth tell the truth!!
  • Elizabeth don't look at them, only at me and tell me the truth.
  • My husband is innocent of all things.
  • Mary Warren
  • Abby stop lying! Stop it Abby!!
  • Mary Please! Please don't hurt me anymore!
  • Rebecca is a caring old women, she is the wife of Francis Nurse. She has eleven children and twenty-six grand children. She was accused of witchcraft by Ann Putnam. Goody Putnam was jealous because Rebecca has so many children and grandchildren, and all of Anns children have died young, she accuses her of supernaturally murdering all of her kids. She would not confess to being a witch because she would not lie, so in the end they hung her for not confessing to being a witch.
  • Abigail Williams
  • Oh John. I know you miss me. I've seen you looking up at my window.
  • Elizabeth Proctor is a good honest women she has only ever told one lie in her life ad it was an attempt to save her husbands name. She was accused of witchcraft by Abigail Williams in order to get Goody Proctor out of her way so she can have John Proctor(Elizabeth's husband) all to herself. Elizabeth dismissed Abby once she discovered that John and Abby were having an affair. After this Elizabeth was skeptical of Abby which made Abby think that Elizabeth was spreading rumors about her throughout the town. In the end Elizabeth survived and was pregnant.
  • John Proctor
  • Mary Warren is the servant of John and Elizabeth Proctor. She is young and very impressionable, she does exactly what Abby tells her to do because she is scared of what would happen if she doesn't listen to her. John Proctor finally convinces her to testify against Abby. In the end Mary ends up going back to Abby and she(Abby) once again is seen as a victim.
  • Reverand Parris
  • She is manipulative and a liar. I believe that she is the actual witch. She accuses others and others accuse different people . Whenever someone was accused no matter who they were Abby would act out in the court saying that their spirit was attacking her. She was the group leader and she made all the other girls do exactly what she wanted because if they didn't she would threaten to beat them or even kill them.
  • Abby I haven't looked in over a month. Stop with this I am a married man.
  • He was a very well-known man in Salem. He could make any man feel incompetent just by being in his presence.His wife was Elizabeth Proctor. Abigail used to be their "maid" until Elizabeth dismissed her. John and Abby were having an affair and Elizabeth found out and began to hate Abby. John became heavily involved once Abby accused his wife of witchcraft just to get her out of the picture. John convinced Mary Warren to testify against Abby to save his wife. In the end John confessed his sins and was hung. His wife said he died an honest man for being able to tell others of what he did with Abby.
  • I will die an honest man.
  • Reverend Parris was the Reverend of Salem. He was a well respected man, and he was very highly regarded in Salem. The government was completely connected to the church. Once Parris first found out about Abby and the other girls he called another man by the name of Reverend John Hale to come and help figure out who in their town were to be considered witches. In the beginning Parris believed the girls when they accused someone of witchcraft. However by the end of the play he was trying to help John and Elizabeth Proctor to stay alive.
