  • It's a boy! I think i'll name you.....James! Yes, James Long has a good ring to it!
  • Goals
  • This is outrageous! I can't believe Texas isn't independent and that it isn't apart of the United States! You know what? I'm going to do something about this!
  • Actions
  • Yes! Nacogdoches is mine!
  • Oh No! We're under attack!
  •  James Long was born in Culpeper County, Virginia, around 1793. He was then taken to Kentucky, then to Tennessee, and joined the army.
  • Accomplishments
  • I'm so glad we could start working in the merchandise business together Mr. Walker!
  • James Long wanted Texas to be part of the U.S. and/or become an independent state.
  • Failures
  • Oh no I shot Dr. Long!
  • Long invaded Texas, for the first time, and captured Nacogdoches in 1819. Second invade in 1821 at La Bahia.

  • James Long was the leader of the Long expedition, and he also served as a surgeon in the War of 1812. After the battle of New Orleans, he went to Natchez to practice medicine and later bought a plantation, making him a wealthy person, and in 1817, Long joined the merchandise business with W.W. Walker. 
  • Yes! I agree Dr. Long!
  • He went to La Bahia in 1821, for his second attempt to make Texas an independent state, and was forced to surrender. He was imprisoned for a period of time in San Antonio and Monterrey. He then went to Mexico City and was shot and killed by a guard in 1822.
