  • After the Civil War ended, Hot Springs went under construction and with a boom of bathhouses and hotels.
  • A businessman from Ohio named Samuel Fordcye built the Arlington Hotel. But it was destroyed by a fire a few years later and after a while they rebuilt it, yet it was destroyed by another fire.
  • Lets build a hotel and named it the Arlington
  • Bathhouse Row  is a collection of eight architecturally significant bathhouses. Most of which were built between 1912 and 1923.
  • Illegal casnio gambling thrived in the city during the 1940s, 50s, and 60s until Governor Winthrop Rockefeller closed the casinos in 1967.
  • This casino is now closed.
  • The city is rich in history, like when the Quapaw Tribe ceded their land to the U.S during a treaty signing in St. Louis, Missouri.
  • In 1862, Hot Springs was the capital of Arkansas when Governor Henry Maisie Rector moved his staff and state record there to protect from the Union Troops during the Civil War.
