Storyboard Text

  • Tommy walks along the street alone at night; he has no where to go
  • Direction the tracking will follow
  • A tracking shot will follow Tommy as he walks down the street.
  • This mid-shot is used to establish the fact that Tommy is isolated
  • A long shot will be used to intensify the loneliness of Tommy's character.
  • Tommy continues to walk alone through the town. His loneliness starts to show
  • This will be in slight high-angle, to further enhance Tommy's weakness.
  • Arrows show Tommy's movement
  • There will be a dissolve edit used at various points of Tommy walking, to exaggerate time passing and his isolation
  • A panning shot will be used to represent Tommy's isolation from the world once more
  • The isolation comes from the fact that he is all alone in a dark, empty and cold street.
  • The shot will pan from left to right
  • A wide shot will be used to intensify the size of the city compared to Tommy, representing how small he feels in life.
  • I think that it is effective if the composition of the shot is positioned so that Tommy is on the left or the right of the third of the frame. To suggest that the frame is consuming Tommy
  • This shot will be from a slight high-angle, to reinforce Tommy's weakness.
  • The shot will start out of focus and then come into focus, to incorporate a dream-like aesthetic.
  • I want to include a close-up of Tommy to ensure that the audience are aware of how he is feeling, but also to intensify his emotions by putting him in the spotlight.
  • A long shot will be used to emphasise Tommy's isolation as he wanders through the city alone
  • Eventually Tommy will come to the front of the shot, making it into a mid-shot so that we can see Tommy's emotions
  • A dissolve edit will be used again to show that time is passing and Tommy is still wandering alone, thus representing his loneliness
  • Arrows show Tommy's movement
