A girl named Janie goes all the way back into time to tell one of the girls in the village (who was her friend) all the things that happened throughout her life and why she's been missing from the village
Janie's grandmother makes her marry an old man that she doesn't want to be with because he had a lot of land. All the old man did was take away her fun and freedom by basically making her a house maid. She then starts to have thouhts of leaving him.
I dont want to be with you
I don't care u can leave
Jaine runs away from the elderly man that she was married to and finds someone younger and they go off and have a good and productive life. The man treats her better than the elderly man by letting her do more and shows her love that her last husband couldn't show her. She feels like they are on top of the world and none thing couldn't bring them down with all the successes that were coming their way.
Janie and her new husbands relationship starts to go downhill when he was not letting her hangout with her friends(the villagers) which led to arguments and physical attacks. Everything really goes downhill when he gets old and the arguments got worse mainly because he wasn't able to to things he used to do because of his age and she was doing the things he used to do. This led to him feeling kinda jealous and their connection falling off. Not too long after rock botton hts and her husband dies.
She finds another husband and he treats her better than the last two. They go off and have a young and playful relationship. This was love that she wanted and the other two couldnt provide so she was all in for him.
