What’s up loser? Ronald, a spot on the team opened up. You got to join. I’ve seen you pitch, you’re awesome.
A Story of RESILIENCE
The Clumsy Student By: Kinley Stokes
Sometimes people don’t know they’re hurting your feelings. They might not even be aware of what they say is hurtful. They can be a classmate, relative, adult, or even your best friend. You might want to run away or even cry, but there’s another option. You can rebound. You may ask, what does it look like or how do I rebound? It all has to do with resilience. Any challenge you come upon you use resilience to overcome it. You might still be confused, but that’s okay. Let me tell you a story to help you better understand resilience.
Yeah? Sweet! Oh no. Mitch is coming down the hall.
On the east wing of Hannah R. Smith Middle School, Logan and Ronald were talking at their lockers just after fourth period. Logan has always been bullied for his clumsiness, but Ronald has always been by his side.
Hey Ronald! Can you believe it? I actually got an A on the mile. I didn’t even fall down this time. Ms.Carol even told me that I did a really good job.
Mitch is the school bully. He has targeted Logan ever since the sixth grade. Logan got hurt a lot because of Mitch, but because Mitch’s mom was Ms.Carol, he got away with it every single time. It was hard for Logan, but knowing Ronald was there, it wasn’t so bad, until today.
Seriously? It’s my dream to be on the baseball team.
