  • Hugh Capet became the most powerful vassals in the kingdom. By 985 Hugh was actually the ruler in all but title. Robert (his son) who was successfully the new king after king Hugh died.
  • Saint Louis
  • I will protect my family and my country ! 
  • Philip Augustus, the first of the great Capetian King of medieval France. He found grounds for resuming hostilities in the summer of 1188. Philip did everything he could to protect his rival's captivity. King Philip was the richest and most powerful king in Europe.
  • Philip IV
  • Louis IX led the Seventh crusade to the holy land in 1248-50. He learned how to ride a horse and hunting. Louis IX won the war against the English on July 1270 and at first won as successful of easy victories.
  • Estates General
  • Saint Louis is where King Louis IX was honored and Louis was different in that he actually interpreted his kingly duties in the light of faith. After the violence of two previous reigns, he brought peace and justice. He rest his life for his famil and his country.
  • Philip IV had 3 sons that were successfully great kings in France. Philip became heir of the kingdom. His victory in 1297 may have satisfied his ambition. Philip not only to pursue his posthumous vendetta against Boniface but also formulate plans to establish himself as the undisputed champion of orthodoxy. He had give thoughts to the moral implication of his deeds.
  • Estates-General was also known as States General, Etats Generaux in France. The origin of the Estates-General are to be found in traditions of counsel and aid and the development of corporate. IT achieved little, how ever, and the crown failed to keep it's promise to assembl the escalates again in 1486. Louis XII summoned the Estates-General just once during his 17 year reign. Estates-General was at the beginning of French Revolution (1789).
