Bring me the head of Medusa if you want to save your mother!
Don't look in her eyes! You need to get a helmet, bag and sandals from Mount Atlas
Perseus' mother was taken prisoner by an evil king in order to marry her. The king demanded that Perseus retrieve the head of the gorgon Medusa to save his mother.
Perseus knew he needed help so we went to Mercury who gave him a mirrored shield and a crystal sword. Mercury told him to go to Mount Atlas to get a helmet that makes you invisible; sandals that make you fly and a bag to put her head in.
Perseus travelled to Mount Atlas where there were 3 witches who shared one eye between them.
At first Perseus could not get them to tell him what he wished to learn but once he stole their one eye, as they passed it from one to another to look at him, they were glad enough to tell him what they wanted to get back their eye.
When Perseus reached the cave of the nymphs, he easily obtained the sandals and the helmet. He then reached the cave of Medusa, and found her lying asleep on the ground.
He was in fear of turning to so he held the mirrored shield before him and neared Medusa before striking her head and putting it in the bag. he went back to the king and showed him the head but as soon as the king saw the head, he turned to stone.
