Storyboard Text

  • The first two estates lived a very wealthy life. They were filled with nobles and and clergy of Roman Catholic church people, along with Louis XVI the King, and his wife the Queen. 
  • Enlightenment Ideas!!!
  • People were coming up with new outlooks on government and how and who should be able to rule. Kings and nobles most definitively did don't like this. 
  • The Third Estate was being treated unfairly though. These people were mostly peasants and they all wanted something to be done about the unfairness.  
  • We want freedom of independence! 
  • But... Louis XVI was going broke and so he wanted to tax the nobles, but he was forced by the Second Estate to call a meeting, it was called the Estates General meeting. It was to discus if everyone agreed on this law. 
  • After a lot of chaos, the National Assembly was formed by the Third Estate, to try and make things more fair between the three estates. But the King and nobles did not like that and so they wanted to end the National Assembly. The people did not take that very well and attacked anyone who might of been a threat. 
  • The King Louis and his family were not happy with the way things were going in France. So the decided to try and sneak out and live like ordinary people.
