  • Peasants, who were most often rice or grain farmers harvest the rice or grain.
  • Peasants paid taxes to the king through his officials. These taxes were paid in the form of grain or rice.
  • Artisans and professionals had many jobs including making items of clothing and household items from the fibers of plants.
  • The group that had the most slaves were artisans. The slaves would have to help the artisans with their work.
