Donald Trump signed an Executive Order that prevented foreign countries from entry to the United States for 90 Days to prevent terrorism.
This didn't go over very well in federal district court, and was challenged almost as soon as it went into place. Thus, the government states they would remove this order and put a new one into place.
President Trump was forced to issue a new Executive Order, which refused the entry of refugees from six out of the seven countries highlighted in the original order.
This order was not popular in several states, but went over the worst in Maryland and Hawaii.
The ACLU, ACLU of Maryland, and the National Immigration Law Center started a lawsuit over the order, and were also accompanied by citizens of the US affected by the ban. The complaint was filed in Maryland.
Eventually, Maryland was able to block Trump's Muslim ban, and a similar ruling was placed in Hawaii in a seperate case. (project by Jasmeet and Cal)
