Introduction Charlie Gordon is a 37 year old man with an intellectual disability. All his life, Charlie has wanted to be smart and now is his chance. There is a surgery that will triple Charlies' IQ if it works correctly.
Rising Action On March 10th, Charlie gets this surgery and he starts to get smarter. Through the next couple months, his IQ starts to improve and he is noticing changes.
Climax On may 23rd, Algernon bites Charlie. When Algernon bites Charlie, Charlie changes. From here on in the story, Charlie is a different person. They all realize that Charlie is going to start losing intelligence just like Algernon.
Falling Action About three months after Charlie get his surgery, Algernon dies and Charlie starts to lose his intelligence. Charlie's IQ eventually drops back down if not further than it was before he got the surgery. Everyday he just sits in his apartment and doesnt do much.
Denouement On July 28th, Charlie decides to leave New York because he doesn't want everyone to feel bad for him. He leaves everyone he knows a note with things to do and goes to live the rest of his life.
