  • Melinda's companion would have to be the art teacher he is someone she looks up to and he helps her realize who she is lets her express herself in a way no one else understands. He tells her to use her feelings to create something with emotion and power. "You're a good kid. I think you have a lot to say. I'd like to hear it." He believes in her like no one else seems to do, she trusts him and he gives her confidence. Because he believes in her I think Melinda will eventually be able to talk to people about what happened that night and will have the confidence to stand up for herself.
  • Timeless
  • Melinda finds herself having to face the fact of what has happened to her, she went to a party with alcohol, and found herself in a situation that no one wants to be put in, she was raped at the party and has still not told anyone what has happened. She is all alone carrying the weight of what has happened to her. "He hurts me, hurts me hurts me hurts me and gets up." He pushed her on the ground and raped her she has know one to tell and is weary of what happened because she was drunk she doesn't know what to say. She calls the cops and everyone is mad at her because they all get in trouble. Melinda needs help she doesn't know how to talk or how to get help.
  • Impact
  • Fearful Melinda Fearless Melinda
  • Melinda faces her fears she is finally getting over the fact that he raped her she tries to help out one of her old friends by leaving a note. David is taking an interest In her giving her more confidence in herself. Melinda is starting to stand up for herself. David says, "You can't speak up for your right to be silent. That's letting the bad guys win." Melinda takes this into consideration, she is starting to see that it is okay to talk about what really happened that night. Melinda gets her confidence back she tells Rachel about Andy , she does not believe her but she tried. Andy then tries to attack Melinda again this time she is confident and aware she pushes him and then is found by the lacrosse team, Melinda is saved people now respect Melinda and she is no longer a nobody. She finishes her tree in art she finally put her emotion into it.
  • Today people love to hear about stories with people in them who overcome their fears and stand up they love heroes. Heroes give people hope, the love, danger, excitement, it's what grabs people, they give people faith. We see it all the time in books, crazy stories of men standing up for what is right, overcoming their fears. Heroes take their lives and put them ahead of everyone else they overcome their fears, that Is what makes a hero.
  • What really touches me, is how Melinda regains her confidence after something traumatic. Melinda Ever comes here fear of Andy and steps up to him she talks about what happened and she gets better. When reading this book I figured out that If you are scared to say something because of how someone treats you or someone else you are letting them win, it will tear you apart inside, you have to stand up for yourself and others around you. The book was really good I like how the author waited to tell you what really happened till the end of the book and then you get to see how Melinda faces her fears and takes them head on, she is really inspiring towards the end of the book, at first I thought she was a bad kid but now I realize that she was hurting and just needed help. Definitely a good book to read.
