Topic #2 in Adulting 101: Meal Planning Lesson
Now that you have determined a budget amount, its time to plan your week of meals!
When shopping for one person it is important to consider the amount of ingredients, your nutrition needs , and the amount of time you have to prepare meals.
Questions to consider when meal planning: 1. How much money do I have to spend on groceries this week? 2. How many portions or meals can I make with one recipe? 3. Are there any days where I know that I will not be eating at home (for example, you are going to a friends house for dinner and studying). 4. How much time do you have to cook/prepare your food? 5. Are your meals well balanced (do you have a protein, vegetable or fruit, and at starch?)
Once you have answered these questions, you can decide what you need to buy at the store this week!
Once you're at the store, you can decide exactly how much of the indgredients you need and make adjustments to your grocery list.
