So in class today I will be talking about the cell cycle. The first step in the cell cycle is the G1 phase. In this phase cell organelles double, DNA replicates and protein synthesis occurs.

And during G2 the cell checks DNA for any damage that might have occurred during replication, ensures all proteins needed for cell division are present. During the G2 checkpoint the cell prepares for mitosis or meiosis.

And during the M checkpoint all the sister chromatids are correctly attached to the spindle microtubules before the cell enters the anaphase stage.
I also know that during cytokenesis the cytoplasm splits into 2 and the cell divides.
