  • Emancipation Proclamation
  • Abraham Lincoln was born on February 12, 1809 in Hodgenville Kentucky.  Before Lincoln became President, he was a Illinois House Representative from 1834-1842. He soon became a U.S. House Representative from 1847-1849.
  • The Death of Lincoln...
  • He became president on March 4th, 1861 and was president until April 15th, 1865, Abraham was the biggest reason for the ending of slavery. He is know as one of the greatest presidents to ever live.
  • Abrahams Legacy
  • The Emancipation Proclamation ended slavery in most of the United States.  The document was signed 1863.  This is one of the reasons why Abraham Lincoln is one of the most famous presidents in our history. 
  • April 15th, 1865, Abraham Lincoln was assassinated at the age of 56. He was murdered by John Wilkes Booth. Abraham was shot in the back of the head at Ford's Theatre, while attending the play Our American Cousin.
