Factoring numbers is something we have been doing since elementary school, for example 4 is equal to 2 times 2.
Now we are just adding variables its not a big change. For example, x2 is equal to x times x.
Now we are going to combine that information. so now we're going to factor x2-4.
Last week we multiplied binomials so we know that a single minus sign comes from a postive/ negavitve set up.
So when you factor x2-4, you will have 2 factors. (x+2)(x-2)
That is how you factor a difference of squares
