  • We want your land!
  • The new president of the United States wanted more land. So he wanted to by land from Mexico. They declined, but they said that the Americans could stay there under Mexicos laws.
  • Thousands upon thousands of Americans moved to Mexico. 10 times the number of Mexicans. This increased tensions in between the two governments. 
  • A Mexican general brought an army to The Alamo, the place where the Americans had placed themselves.
  • The Mexican fought brutally, and all of the Americans and Texans protecting The Alamo died fighting an impossible battle.
  • The American Army pushed back at the Mexicans and won a great war for Texas.  Texas was claimed by the Americans.
  • After fighting with Mexico for California. America gained all of the areas in and around California.
