The first wave was made all up of Privates. They invaded the island and did a little scouting.
They camped and waited for the next day to start. When the next day did start, they decided to explore more and found a Japanese airfield. They easily took it over and named finished the unfinished air field, Henderson Field.
The Japanese had a surprise attack on the American ships. They were sending reinforcements along with supplies but were attached by the Japanese aircraft, they later attacked by sea. The aftermath of the Battle of Savo Island
A local Guadalcanal police officer ran towards William and warned them that the Japanese are right behind him and they should spread the news. They ran around but a nearby Japanese sniper over heard and killed Bruno and nearly hit William. Bruno fell into the river and a famed Guadalcanal crocodile ate Bruno.
William stared at the crocodile bones in his fathers study and tears flowed silently form his eyes. He stood there for a moment and when he finished, he wiped his tears and walked outside to go to college and become a paleontologist, just like his father.
