  • Oh, that deceit should dwell In such a gorgeous palace!
  • Tybalt is gone, and Romeo banishèd. Romeo that killed him—he is banishèd.

  • Act 3 Scene 3
  • Here from Verona art thou banishèd. Be patient, for the world is broad and wide.
  • Tybalt meets Benvolio and Mercutio on the streets, Rome later joining them. Romeo refuses Tybalt's challenge to fight, but Mercutio accepts it. They fight, and Mercutio is stabbed, Romeo is furious, so he stabs Tybalt in a sword fight. The Prince declares his punishment as banishment from Verona.

  • Well get you gone. O' Thursday be it, then.
  • The nurse explains to Juliet that Romeo killed Tybalt in a sword fight. Juliet is horrified that Romeo would do this, she begins to cry over her cousin's death. Juliet, then, begins to grieve over Romeo being banished, and the Nurse promises to bring Romeo to her.
  • Act 3 Scene 5
  • Hang thee, young baggage, disobedient wretch! I tell thee what: get thee to church o' Thursday, Or never after look me in the face. Speak not; reply not; do not answer me.
  • Romeo is upset his punishment is banishment not death because he will be away from Juliet. The Nurse tells Romeo Juliet is upset about his actions. Friar Lawrence says Romeo can spend the night with Juliet, and he will have someone take Romeo away in the morning.
  • There is no world without Verona walls But purgatory, torture, hell itself. Hence “banishèd” is banished from the world, And world’s exile is death.
  • Paris is determined to marry Juliet. The Capulets promise Paris that Juliet will marry him in three days.
  • My lord, I would that Thursday were tomorrow.
  • Go you to Juliet ere you go to bed. Prepare her, wife, against this wedding day.—
  • Romeo and Juliet separate early morning. Juliet is told to marry Paris, yet she does not wish too. Her father is outraged with her decesion, so he threatens to put her on the streets. The Nurse says Juliet should marry Paris and forget about Romeo. Juliet is furious with the Nurse, so she goes to Friar Lawrence for help.
  • Good Father, I beseech you on my knees, Hear me with patience but to speak a word.
