There is a contest going on called the Triwizard Tournament at Hogwarts and to be placed in it, you must be a certain age and place your name in the Goblet of Fire. When Harry finds out he is in the tournament he is confused because he did not put his name in and he is not the right age. But when the Goblet chooses, there's no going back. Te staff are furious and don't believe that Harry did not put his own name in the goblet.
One rising action could be Harry training for the Triwizard Tournament, and pushing himself to new limits. He doesn't think he has ever worked this hard physically and his constant perseverance shows the people around him that he really wants to winthis . This really gets readers excited and apprehensive in a way, wondering how Harry will do in the end. Resulting, for me, as a page turner.
The actual competition of the Triwizard Tournament was intense, and definitely built up the thoughts of who's going to win overall. The competition is harsh, and builds up a good amount of suspense. And, in the competition there are 3 tasks to complete for the 3 schools being represented by one competitor. This means that there is a lot of pressure being put on each student participating.
During the third task, they were transported to a cemetery, where Cedric was murdered by Peter Pettigrew. The competitors were devastated, and knew he wanted revenge because that is how his mind works. The crowd was also by all means devastated, and wanted answers immediately. Harry now knows that he must do something and retaliate to whoever was behind this cruel act.
One falling action in the book was when Harry found out that Voldemort as behind the death of Cedric's death, and "ordered" Peter to kill Cedric. This is when Harry takes action and presumes to fight Voldemort himself using new spells he has never practiced in a real situation before. Also, this is one of the first times that Harry comes in direct contact to Voldemort and fights him using his own wand. This builds up and causes a downfall of actions.
In the end of the story, all things worked out, and the fight between Harry and Voldemort has ended for now. Mad Eye Moody was relocated and the students are getting ready to go back home until next year. The students enjoy their last feast, while to staff give some final speeches and announce house of the year which turned out to be Gryffindor, once again.
