During this time I was about 6 years old and my little sister, was about five, The day had started off, just as any other had, and to make things even better the weather that day was amazing, not too hot, not too cold, and there was a bright blue sky that was blue as a sparkling clean ocean on a bright summer day, everything was just right.
That morning my mom had came to the Bunk bed me and my little sister shared, and had woken me up earlier than usual to let me know that it was only gonna be me and my little sister in the house for a little while since she had to go out and do something, after she had told me this, she left, and I went back to sleep. After a few hours had passed I woke up, and realizing my mom was still out, I started to freak out, and I just felt a roller coaster of anxiety come over me, this is because as a kid I didn't like being anywhere, even my own house, without my parents for extended periods of time, as a child it was one of my biggest fears.
My mom is really smart, and she knew how unnecessarily worried I'd get as a kid whenever I was away from her or my dad for extended periods of time, so what she did was put the humongous couch we had in front of the front door so I wouldn't leave the house, and possibly get lost. As a kid, that age, I should not have been able to move that couch out of the way of the front door, but with how worried/anxious I was, I ended up having an adrenaline rush that gave me the strength of a rampaging elephant which ended up allowing me to do so.
After moving the Couch out of the way, I had scurried at the speed of light, to the room, to wake up my little sister who had still been asleep, after waking her up I went to the garage to get my bike, I Then proceeded to take my bike outside to the front porch of our house. I told my sister to get on the backseat of the bike, and next thing I knew, I was headed out with my little sister in search of where my mother went. During this time I didn't have a clue as to where I was going, I just knew one thing, I was looking for my mom.
We then started to ride on my bike to who knows where, fortunately our neighbor caught me and asked where I was going, I told her I was looking for my mom, upon hearing this she explained that me and my sister should stay home since she knew I would've just ended up getting lost. as lost as an asteroid traveling the infinite abyss that is space would be, Despite what our neighbor told me, I still wanted to keep going, but thankfully she wouldn't allow me to go passed her, and she had me stay there until my mom got back.
Eventually My mom had gotten home, once she did, our neighbor explained everything to her, my mom thanked her, and of course being worried that I almost got me and my little sister lost, she told me to never do something like that again. Overall this is a childhood experience that I had, that I'll never forget. It's also something I regret, as I almost got both me and my little sister lost, just because I couldn't go for more than an hour without being near my parents as a kid otherwise I'd revert back to being a baby who's crying a river. I am very thankful to our neighbor at the time who stopped me because if it wasn't for them, who knows what would've happened.
