This shot opens up to a close up of Jefferies staring at Thorwald in his apartment through binoculars. He then proceeds to a cabinet where he removes a bigger camera lens in order to get a better view of Thorwald from the safety of his apartment.
The scene changes into a view through Jefferies camera lens. The viewer can see Thorwald wrapping knives with newspaper. The camera moves along with Thorwald's motions in order to create a first person point of view.
You haven't gone in your bedroom since your wife left. Why won't you sleep in your own bed?
The camera comes back to Jefferies. This shot is a close up and the camera covers half of Jefferies face. He has his good leg up, holding and balancing the camera on his knee cap as he watched Thorwald in wonder.
Once the camera pans back into Thorwald's home, he has made his way from the kitchen into the living room. Thorwald gives a big stretch and yawn before taking off his glasses and proceeding to lay down.
The camera pans back into Jefferies home. This is a mid shot level. The scene ends with Jefferies questioning Thorwald's decision to sleep on the couch rather than his own bed. His suspicion then grows larger.
