  • The Rise and Fall of Robespierre
  • By Anthony Kostenko
  •  France, 1793
  • If all of my studies of Rousseau and the philosophies point to anything, the monarchy must fall!
  • France, 1788
  • How dare they slaughter thousands of our people with that wretched guillotine!
  • Good moral values WILL prevail!
  • My fellow Frenchmen! I will lead us out of this misery as "The Uncorruptable"! DOWN WITH THE MONARCHY!!!
  • The evils committed by the King will only be repaid by his death!
  • OFF WITH THE KING'S HEAD!!
  • Off with the heads of ALL who appose the revolution!!
  • 1794, Robespierre's Trial and Execution for His Corruption
  • In the end, Robespierre was tried and branded an outlaw after his motives for using his power were questioned. Being brought to the blade shortly after a botched suicide attempt, Robespierre and 21 of his allies were executed by the same weapon he had once so vehemently apposed.
