  • No! Thats not fair, he didn't have enough time to pick the card he wanted! 
  • One day on a beautiful day, there was a village gathering that seemed more identical to a celebration instead of a meeting.The kids were having fun collecting stones in piles, while a man named Mr.Summers was getting ready the annual lottery.
  • Climax
  • The rising action was when all the adults and families gathered around in a big circle. Most seemed happy and proud, while some seemed nervous  and worried.
  • Falling Action
  • The conflict was when Tessie Hutchinson's husband went to get his slip of paper and she saw something on it while he picked it up.  She began to yell and argue saying that he didn't have enough time to pick up a paper of his choice.
  • Resolution
  • When Tessie's husband was chosen, that caused the entire family a chance to be chosen. Next, everyone from the chosen family will pick a card and if it has a period on it, that means your chosen. Tessie was the unlucky family member that was chosen.
  • After Tessie found out she was chosen, she started screaming that it wasn't fair and it wasn't right. The villagers ignored her and kept sticking with there tradition. The villagers began to collect the stones the children collected and surrounded Tessie in a circle.
  • After being surrounded by her fellow villagers with rocks, they began to throw the stones at her. The villagers threw the stones at her until she died.
