Storyboard Text

  • My name is Elizabeth Bathory. I was born in 1560 to a noble Hungarian family and married to Count Ferenc Nasasday at 15. Though many of you may know me better as the Countess Dracula
  • You see I am credited with at least 60 murders though many believe I killed up to 650 young Hungarian and Venetian women in varied and violent ways. Though this is not why I am remembered today. No, I am remembered for something much more gruesome.
  • You see I am known for draining the blood from my victims so that I could drink and bathe in it to retain my youth. I remained free until 1609 when I was caught because I moved from torturing young serving girls to girls of noble birth. I died five years later while under house arrest
  • So why did I do what I did? I grew up in the lap a luxury with everything I ever needed. i also grew up during the Turkish conquest of Europe as well as religious fighting. Even still some people say that I was already predisposed to mental issued to the inbreading that took place in my family.
  • Even so, I did not start my torturing of young women until I was married. My husband taught me many things and i soon surpassed him. I would stick needles under girl's fingernails and brand them with hot irons. In the winter I would pour water over naked women and send them out into the snow to freeze. I would even bite the flesh off of my victims.
  • In the end, I was never officially tried but I was placed on house arrest' confined to one windowless room for the last five years of my life. Upon my death, I left my vast estate to be split amongst my four children who I loved dearly.
