ORDINARY WORLD: odysseus is at his home in Ithaca with his wife and son.
CALL TO ADVENTURE: The battle at Troy, Trojan war. The Trojans attacked Greek, forcing Odysseus to leave his home in order to fight and lead the armies in the battle.
REFUSAL: Odysseus does not want to go to war. Instead, he wants to stay home with his wife and newborn son.
CROSSING THE THRESHOLD: Poseidon creates a storm and throws Odysseus off track. He is introduced to a world that is not his own, which completely separated him from his previous life.
TEST / ALLIES / ENEMIES: He comes across trials such as sirens, polyphemus, Lotus eaters, and many more. Odysseus encounters Circe, whom he thought was beautiful. Although He never had true love feelings for her, they were together for a long time. She forces him to stay for over five years, however is only seems like a couple of days.
RETURN: Odysseus has time to think, and atones for his wrongdoings. The gods, with the exception of Poseidon, notice that he realizes his mistakes and agree to let him go back.
