  • Rainsford and Whitney gossiping about the notorious "Ship-trap Island..."
  • Exposition
  • Zaroff explains to Rainsford that he hunts only Marooned sailors but spares Rainsford because of his hunter background.
  • After Becoming marooned and coming across a chateau, General Zaroff, a former Big game hunter invites Rainsford to visit.
  • Conflict
  • Setting up traps and avoiding Zaroff's gaze, Rainsford toke down Zaroffs best hound and his henchman, Ivan.
  • Rising action
  • Refusing Zaroffs offer to hunt alongside him, Rainsford become the hunted. Rainsford must hide from the general for 3 nights without being seen.
  • Cornered on a cliff and nowhere to go, rainsford dives off the cliff fooling Zaroff that he had died.
  • Zaroff goes back to his Home. what Zaroff did not know is that Rainsford swam back before he got there.

  • Zaroff heads back to eat and gets ready to go to sleep.
