Barometric pressure

Storyboard Text

  • Barometric pressure is the pressure that is caused by the weight of the air above us
  • Another factor that makes people tired is barometric pressure.
  • When it comes to the weather, barometric pressure has been proven to play an important role in oxygen transport (Levine, B 1988)
  • During rainy weather, the barometric pressure is lower. When barometric pressure is low, there is less available oxygen in the air which adds to drowsiness.
  • Oxygen can help stimulate our brain when we have enough. However, without the proper amount weird things can happen. Let's take a look.
  • When this happens you're less likely to do any physical activity. So now that we know the lack of oxygen in the air makes us tired. Let's look at how the weather affects the oxygen levels in the sky.
  • When the body lacks oxygen it's very easy for the body to become more tired( Amann, M 2008 ). Your lungs can't properly inhale and exhale.
  • Hmm...now that we have explored barometric pressure, melatonin, and. oxygen let's go find my parents!
