"Sam, Caroline Madson committed suicide... in 2007"(283).
Exposition Sam has OCD so she gets terrible thoughts that she can't get out of her head. Her very judgemental friends don't know that she has OCD.
"I made you feel normal? You do realize I'm pretty far from normal, right?"(334).
"I was diagnosed with OCD when I was eleven. I've been on antianxiety medication ever since"(332).
Rising Action Sam's new friend, Caroline, takes her to a secret poetry room in the back of the auditorium, where she learns to show her emotions through poetry.
"When our time is up, I leave her office and head back to the waiting room, realizing that, for the first time in five years, we didn't talk about the Crazy Eights"(352).
Climax Sam realizes that her "friend", Caroline isn't real. She was a person at one point, but she committed suicide eight years ago. It was all in Sam's head.
Falling Action Sam admits to her special friend from poets corner that she has OCD. She explains that she isn't normal and she never will be. He tells her no one in poets corner is normal, including him.
Resolution Sam let go of her toxic friends and has put her shield down around people. She is free to be herself at all times, and loves it. She's no longer afraid of who he is and how she is seen by others because she is happy.
