Bye sweetie! I'm taking our baby to mommy and me class to enhance his speaking skills!
Okay have fun!
Welcome! Today we will be talking about language and its three main components, phonemes, morphemes, and grammar
Language= our spoken/written/signed words and the ways we combine them to communicate meaning
Phonemes are a language's most basic unit of sound where morphemes are a language's smallest unit of meaning
But in grammar, there are several components that make up this component such as semantics, syntax, mechanics, and pragmatics
Semantics= rules for deriving meaning from sounds Syntax= rules for ordering words into sentences Mechanics= rules that govern how language is written Pragmatics= informal rules about what language is appropriate to use
Now for your baby, around 4 months he will begin to babble sounds found all over the world, at 10 months he will babble sounds specific to their household language, and at 12 months they speak in single words during their holographic stage
I also highly encourage teaching your children a second language as it can embody different ways of thinking, enhance their thinking abilities and help construct abstract ideas!
