The Fall of the House of Usher
A brief summary of Edgar Allan Poe's famous story, "The Fall of the House of Usher."
Usher has written me to tell me that he is not well in body and mind. He requests that I visit him.
The mansion is gloomy and full of dread. There is a large crack in the front.
This is the last time we will probably see her alive.
I try to comfort Usher, but it does not work. He and his sister Madeline are dying.
Usher's sister dies and we bury her under the house in the vault.
Yes, I hear that. Did we bury her alive?!
Do you not hear that?!
Usher grew worse. Soon, we hear a noise from the vault. Madeline's ghost comes and kills Usher.
I run from the mansion just as it collapses in the ground. I am lucky to be alive!
