• Fold your paper into four equal squares.
• ﻿HIT﻿
• H - Hook I - Introduction or Background Information T -Thesis Statement
• The top left square is for making sense of the prompt. We will use the acronym TAP.  T is for Task, A is for Audience, P is for Purpose.
• REASONS ﻿/ RACER
• H - Hook I - Introduction or Background Information T -Thesis Statement
• Reason 1: R- Restate the Question A - Answer the Question C - Cite Evidence E - Explain or Give Examples R﻿ - Restate as a conclusion
• The right hand side of the paper is for you to take notes from the articles you read or media you watch, or to use for for ideas you brainstrom about the topic.  ﻿
• Conclusion
• T - Task A - Audience P - Purpose﻿
• Notes﻿:  f f f f f
• On the back side of your paper will be the main part of your essay. Each square will be a paragraph. The upper left hand square is for the introductory paragraph. We will remember what goes in this paragraph by using the acronym HIT. H is for Hook, I for Introduction or Background Information and the T is for Thesis Statement.
• The next three square are for your three big reasons. Each square is for one reason. Use the RACER method to explain each reason.
• Reason 2: R- Restate the Question A - Answer the Question C - Cite Evidence E - Explain or Give Examples R﻿ - Restate as a conclusion
• Reason 3: R- Restate the Question A - Answer the Question C - Cite Evidence E - Explain or Give Examples R﻿ - Restate as a conclusion
• Turn your paper back over. The last square will be used for your conclusion.
