Of course, boy. You can ask me anything about farming.
Well, my teacher in Agriculture told us that we need to plant Radish, Eggplant, Cabbage, and Lady Fingers, then she told us that we can either do a Direct planting or Transplanting , What are the difference of those methods?
I see you need to plant. Ok, let me tell you the differences
Direct planting - Direct seeded crops require less labor and tend to mature faster than transplanted crops. In this method, plants are not subjected to stresses such as being pulled from the soil and re-establishing fine rootlets. However, they have more competition from weeds.
Meaning it is more prone to infestation and they have a higher chance of dying fast but since they are in their permanent place, stressing the plant is not a problem because you're not pulling them out of their soil.
Now, Transplanting. Transplanting or replanting is the technique of moving a plant from one location to another. You use this method to test if your seeds will sprout or you have a bad quality of seeds. The disadvantage of this method is if you transplant harshly, you may damage the roots or the entire seedlings while transplanting from one place to another.
Meaning this method need to be done with care and caution or your seedlings might die. You do this method to ensure the growth of your seed but because you are going to transplant it, killing the seedlings may happen
So you mean that both methods have disadvantages but transplanting is more crucial? Ok, I'm going to use the direct planting instead.
Boy, I suggest you try the seed germination test first before doing both methods to ensure that your seeds are a good quality one.
Ok, Mr. Farmer. I will, thank you for your advice.
You're always welcome, Boy. If you need more advice just ask me
