Greenhouse gases, including carbon dioxide, methane and water vapor, trap heat in the Earth's atmosphere and warm the planet. In general, the greenhouse effect is a good thing. Without greenhouse gases, the temperature on Earth would be too cold to support life.
Scientific evidence for warming of the climate system is unequivocal. Their ability to affect the transfer of infrared energy through the atmosphere is the scientific basis of many instruments flown by NASA. There is no question that increased levels of greenhouse gases must cause the Earth to warm in response.
Some impacts on the environment is drought, wildfires, increased heat. This topic is important because droughts could cause crops not to grow, and that would cause food shortages. Wildfires would cause animals to lose their homes, which would cause them to move down to the city. Increased heat would cause ponds, creeks, etc. to dry out which causes water shortages.
Global Warming should be brought to our attention because Global Warming determines future climate expectations. Also, Global Warming is causing the ocean to rise which will cause the coasts to flood.
The world is changing everyday due to Global Warming!
