Prioritization is a huge role in patient care that every healthcare representative should understand. The purpose of prioritization is to provide life saving treatments and improve patient outcomes.
Priority setting can be defined by patient situations. Nurses follow Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs to establish a preferential order for nursing care.

Physiological problems are the highest priority according to Maslow's Hierachy of Needs so you should always assess patients that have airway, breathing, and circulation problems first.
