  • South African Revolution By: CJ Kruger
  • Stage 0: Acceptance
  • Ok. I'm leaving. I don't want to cause any trouble.
  • Leave right now or I'm contacting the authorities!
  • Stage 1: Complaining
  • I am a citizen of South Africa. I have the right to vote!
  • I know. This is an outrage! We are going to do something about this. Apartheid must come to an end.
  • The black people in South Africa faced a lot of racism in the twentieth century. Over the years, they powered through to make massive changes to society in South Africa.
  • Stage 2: Protest
  • WE WANT RIGHTS JUST BECAUSE?
  • BECAUSE WE'RE JUST AS GOOD AS WHITES!
  • Black people could not go out to a specific place because everything was segregated. Blacks also could not vote at all and have no say in government. Only whites were allowed to vote and go anywhere they want. This system was called Apartheid.
  • Stage 3: Revolution
  • YES SIR!
  • Due to the apartheid laws, racism took a toll on the blacks. They had enough of this hatred and decided to do something about.
  • Stage 4: Recovery
  • My fellow people of South Africa, I, Nelson Mandela is honored to be standing here as your new president. I hope you all know that this once hostile place, we'll stay and forever stay as a peaceful democratic nation.
  • The African National Congress (ANC) was formed to fight against the white leaders of South Africa. The ANC hosted marches, strikes, and other protest.
  • In Sharpeville, the South African government did not act kindly to their protest there. The police opened fire and killed 69 people.
  • SHOOT THEM ALL... NOW!
  • in 1994, South Africa had its first all-race elections. People stood in line for periods of time just to cast their vote. The people elected Nelson Mandela for their new democratic nation.
