The slaves slept in small shacks about 15 slaves per shack with no blankets or beds to sleep on.
If the slaves tried to escape they would be punished in a variety of ways such as leg locks neck collars beaten whipped or even executed.
Mostly woman worked inside the house to do chores cook meals and tend the children while the men worked out in the field.
The children also mostly worked inside doing the washing cooking meals and taking care and tidying the house.
For the plantation owners life was easy and laid back, they would make sure the slaves were working and staying on task.
