Forty-six year old Leslie Groves was an engineer by training. He'd just finished being manager of the construction of the Pentagon. the biggest office building in the world. (page 47)
Groves was promoted to general and took command of the Manhattan Project on September 18, 1942. (page 48)
Leslie got the news that Oppenheimer has all the steps in making the bomb successful. (page 158)
Leslie decided to find a way to distract the Germans in the making of the bomb. He decided to kidnap on of the German scientist Heisenberg.
Leslie Groves and the other scientist tested the bomb in Los Almos, Mexico. The bomb was successful and later led to the bombing of other areas.
On August 6, 1945 the first bombing by the U.S. happened in Hiroshima, Japan.
