Storyboard Text

  • Chap. 1 and 2
  • Tell about the rabbits George, tell it
  • Chap. 3 and 4
  • I am so sorry
  • Chap. 5
  • Touch my hair Lennie
  • And I get to tend the rabbits, right George?
  • In this scene, George tells Lennie about their plan for happiness to cheer Lennie up after yelling at him for what happened in Weed. Lennie was tempted to touch the women´s dress in Weed as was Adam and Eve in the Garden of Evil. In the first chapter there was a snake that was introduced representing evil which led onto Lennie´s behavior in Weed. The theme is friendship and teamwork. George and Lennie worked together to try and reach their dream of being on the ranch with the rabbits and animals.
  • Chap. 6
  • Carlson took Candy´s dog away from the bunkhouse because he was old and suffering and shot him in the back of the head. The relationship between Candy and the old dog is similar to the relationship between Lennie and George which is foreshadowing that Lennie is going to die. However it it is ironic that they ended up dying in the same way. The theme is all good things must come to n end. Candy´s dog was killed which ruined a friendship and close bond and foreshadowed the death of George´s best friend, Lennie.
  • Curley´s wife was talking to Lennie because she was lonely and she didn´t have anyone to talk to so she told Lennie to touch her hair so she could be relatable and have a friendship with Lennie but he ended up snapping her neck and killing her. She was wearing a red dress and everything Lennie touches that is red, he ends up killing. The theme of this chapter is about losing hope. Now that Curley´s wife is dead, George knows there dream will definitely not come true anymore and lose hope because of it.
  • George shot Lennie in the head because he didn´t want him to suffer and be tortured because people were coming to torture him for killing Curley´s wife. Due to foreshadowing throughout the book, it was clear that something would happen that would hinder the accomplishment of their dream. The theme was about dreams. Although George and Lennie worked so hard to accomplish their dream, something was always hindering them from reaching their goal and some type of problem always came in the way but their dream kept them trying.
