Hello my name is Horace Mann. When I was but a child I only went to school 11 weeks a year because I had to help my family on the farm. I felt this was unfair because wealthier children went to school longer and were better off. I knew that we needed an education reform.
Maybe I'll have a proper education!
I found it unfair that many children are unable to go to school. So I decided to become state supervisor of education. During my time as supervisor I increased the school year to six months. I also helped to created training schools for teachers. These were just a few of my accomplishments as State Supervisor.
Good evening, my name is Thomas Galludent, in my life I focused on helping to teach those with disabilities. I developed a method of teaching to help students with hearing impairment. I also opened the Hartford school of the deaf and at the same time I developed books with raised letters for the visually impaired.
