I don't get much water a year so I need to store as much as I can in my roots in order to live.
Hi im Billy the cactus and I live in the desert with hawks and little chipmunks that roam and hide under me.
I store water so that during the winter or off season i can get as much water as i need to stay alive. This helps me because unlike plants in the rainforest i have bigger and more roomy roots so that when it rains i can gather as much water as I need.
Storing water is a process in my photosynthesis. Instead of getting sun, which I still get, I also store water!
By storing water in my roots I look more appealing to people because I look more green and fresh.
Hello im Bob the plant and I live in the rainforest surrounded by lots of other friends like Genny the tree and Lance the vine.
I live in the rainforest and as you can see I get all my energy and food from the sunlight. This process is called photosynthesis. During photosynthesis I gather energy from the sun and out of that light I make a substance called glucose.
Photosynthesis helps me live a fresh life. The rainforest get almost 10x more rain than a desert does. So unlike mainly storing water I store light which produces energy which produces glucose.
