The Battle of Yorktown, 1781
Outside of Yorktown. General Lafayette and General Washington trap Cornwallis.
I want you to take your men and trap Cornwallis.
General Washington and General Lafayette join forces.
Lafayette had 4,00 French troops with him and General Washington had 2,500 American troops. They combined their armies and the siege began for weeks the fighting wore down the British defenses. Alexander Hamilton took part in the Battle of Yorktown. Cornwallis sent a drummer and a soldier with a white flag of surrender.
