I´m really sorry Miss Lottie, I really am. Especially after I heard your story.
Lizabeth, her brother and her friends loved to tear out the marigolds growing in Miss Lottie´s garden. But, the children only wanted to ruin the flowers because they were bored, and bothering Miss Lottie was their favorite thing to do when they were bored.
One night, after Lizabeth overheard more about her family´s financial situation, she got so mad and frustrated at the world she ran to Miss Lottie´s and ripped out her marigolds. Unfortunately for Lizabeth, Miss Lottie caught her.
Miss Lottie told Lizabeth of her hard childhood and how her marigolds were the only thing keeping her happy. Lizabeth realizes how childish and selfish she acted. Lizabeth knows that she must not act like a kid anymore, but like an adult.
