Storyboard Text

  • Aeneas and the remainder of the trojan army get swept onto the island of Carthage by a storm sent by the angry Goddess, Juno.
  • They are lost, and come across a women called Venus, who explains where they are and who she is. Then she puts a thick mist around Aeneas, so nobody can see him.
  • Aeneas is led to the queen of Carthage, Dido, who is amazed by the Trojans. She gives Aneas a royal welcome. However, Venus hatches a fateful plan.
  • Poeni hostes Troianorum sunt. o dei, Poenos vindicate! Troianus punite!
  • Venus, sends Cupid to make Dido fall in love with Aeneas, so that Aneas is protected by the Carthaginians.
  • Aeneas then grows closer to Dido, and they begin to fall in love. However, the Gods remind Aeneas of his mission; the love affair cannot go on.
  • Aeneas plans to run way, however Dido finds out. In anger, she vows vengeance and commits suicide.
