The execution of Thomas Scott puts Louis Riel in danger from the English and so he runs away in the US and is the banished from Canada for 5 years since the Canadian government forgives Riel for the execution.
In 1884, Gabriel Dumont, a president of a Metis government, and a group of Metis go into the US and invite Louis Riel back to be their voice again.
In 1885, the Metis start the second resistance. They capture a place called Duck Lake and then with the help of the Cree and Dakota capture a police post called Frog Lake.
