  • You think you don't deserve death? Well, my Myrtle didn't deserve it either. You took everything from me and now you are going to pay.
  • Nooooo! Daisy!!
  • No matter how hard he tries he will never be like us old money east-eggers.
  • Jay Gatsby vs. Society
  • What an ignorant fool. New money bootlegger thinks he is all that.
  • Have you heard the rumors? Heard he was a bootlegger, a German spy, and even that he killed a man. Well, all that matters is that he throws good parties.
  • Thank you old sports for attending my party!
  • Daisy vs. Herself
  • What about Pammy though? Tom is a cheater.
  • I can't decide! I love Gatsby still, but I used to love Tom. I had no choice, but to marry Tom. Leaving him would be a disgrace. Gatsby has wealth now, but not a name.
  • George Wilson who is beside himself he is so upset over Myrtle's death, he makes it his mission to find the driver of the yellow car and get vengeance. After calling Tom and asking around, he found out the car belonged to Jay Gatsby. Thinking Gatsby killed his wife, he hunts down his house and finds him taking a dip in his pool. Wilson shoots Gatsby dead and then kills himself.

  • Jay Gatsby puts up a facade to make people believe he is from old money. He lies to them about where he came from, the college he attended, and about his family being new money. All he wants is to be accepted by Daisy, who is old money. He throws elaborate parties to attract her and many other people. These people spread rumors about Gatsby and use him only for his parties and his wealth.

  • Daisy is forced to make the decision between Jay Gatsby and Tom Buchanan. She has a child with Tom and they have a child together. Gatsby offers an exciting life and will only be faithful to her. In the end, Daisy choses Tom Buchanan even though Gatsby has spent his last years waiting for her and doing everything he could to build a life she would accept.
