  • THE MUNICH PUTSCH 1923

  • The Nazis were basically a terrorist group. Hitler made a large group of unemployed young men and former soldiers, known as the storm troopers, who attacked other political groups
  • During the event in 1923, Hitler plotted with two nationalist politicians, Kahr and Lossow, to take over Munich in a revolution.
  • 
  • 
  • On the 8 November 1923, Hitler and 600 SA forcefully arrived at meeting that Kahr and Lossow were hosting. Threatening with a gun Hitler forced them to agree to rebel. 
  • 
  • 
  • On the 9 November 1923, Hitler and his Nazis went into Munich on what they anticipated would be a worthwhile march in order to take power. 
  • Hail Hitler!
  • 
  • Kahr had called in police and army reinforcements. There was a short conflit in which the police killed 16 Nazis. Hitler fled from the scene, but was arrested two days later.

  • Hitler went to prison where he wrote the book 'Mein Kampf'. Many read it, and Hitler's ideas became very well-known
